A complete backhand follow through

Notice how I follow all the way through, completly over the shoulder on the backhand, this will enable you to keep your balls closer to the baseline, as opposed to landing short in the court.

Another client preparing early to hit the backhand

Notice how Katie gets the racket back very early on the backhand

Mcclains tennis tip of the week.

The follow through is so very important, on each and every shot, as you view my forehand and backhand videos, watch closely how I illustrate the full follow through, so very very important to follow all the way through, this will make your balls go deeper to the baseline, this will take a person from 4 to 5 times hitting the ball over the net, to 20 to 25 balls over the net, without missing, and that definetly makes the game much more enjoyable.

GET THE FULL EXTENSION ON YOUR SERVE

The full extension on your serve allows you to get a more consistent serve.

EARLY BACKHAND PREPARATION

VERY IMPORTANT TO GET THE RACKET BACK EARLY, THIS ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE MORE TIME TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SHOTS, MOST IMPORTANTLY ALWAYS SWING LOW TO HIGH, THIS AUTOMATICALLY GIVES THE BALL INSTANT TOPSPIN, TO GIVE YOU A MORE CONSISTENT SHOT. VIEW MY BACKHAND INSTRUCTION LINK ABOVE.

EARLY FOREHAND PREPARATION

Very important, notice how I have my left arm out, to help me guage exactly how close,to get to the ball, but most importantly, it gives you that shoulder rotation, and that gives you a much more balanced shot, better balance better shot.
